We offer one digital camp and one drawing camp weekly for 10 weeks, a total of 20 Summer Camps available in Orlando and Tampa. We hope you enroll in as many individual weekly camps as you can, we cover a lot of topics and have fun while doing it ! Please see the camp descriptions below to help you decide. Cost is $350 per week with no other fees. Ink and Paint Summer Camps, additional $25 Art Supply fee.
Anime” is the short for “animation” (アニメーション) in the Japanese language, and “Manga” (漫画) is the word for “comic books”. At camp, the students will briefly explore the history and learn some of the basic techniques that makes this unique medium of visual storytelling so popular around the world. Students will then focus on applying these techniques and skills toward putting together a short story, designing characters and combining all these wonderful elements into their own form of anime art.
Students will learn how to create appealing, charismatic different characters through a variety of stylistic drawing techniques. We will be cover aspects that go into designing characters for animation. Also explore how to shape language as it relates to the characters personality.Characters are the essential component necessary in the successful creation of any and all stories. This camp will expose students to the “how” of character design and development. A large variety of illustrative approaches and techniques will be utilized by students, all of which will give students an opportunity to push themselves and think outside of the provincial box to design there own characters.
Digital painting is a technique for making digital art in the computer. We will use the computer as our canvas and the digital tablet as our paintbrush. In this camp students will learn basic digital painting skills like balance and proportion while using basic tools in Photoshop.
We will use Sculptris to create production-ready 3D digital artwork. Sculptris offers a high-performance environment and professional-quality tools to help you create highly realistic 3D characters, engaging environments, detailed props, and compelling concept designs in less time. In our camp we will sculpt basic digital 3D characters without the messy cleanup of traditional sculpting !
Drawing Animated Characters
Would you like to learn how to draw some of your favorite characters from Film and Cartoons ? We can show you how to draw Bugs Bunny , Sponge Bob, Pikachu and many others. This camp is designed for younger students and is perfect for children who like to draw and doodle but want to learn a better way to draw. Let our Animator show your children how to properly draw these characters and have fun while doing it !
Drawing Disney Characters
Learn how to draw some of the most beloved Disney Character’s of all time. Classics like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Winnie The Poo. We also will dive into some current characters like Stitch, Mushu, and Jumba and others. Let our former Disney Animator help your child understand what it takes to create Disney Characters.
This camp is a must for beginners ! In this camp, beginning artists will learn basic drawing fundamentals. Does your child like to draw? But the don’t how to start ? Let our Animator show them how to draw the basic characters they are have been interested in with applied techniques from Drawing Fundamentals.
Ink and Paint
Lynn Rippberger is a Disney Veteran’s join them as we explore the colorful world of Ink & Paint cel animation. She will be dipping into her many years of experience in film making, with Disney and other major producers, where we have worked on such films as “”Lilo & Stitch”, “Mulan”, “Princess and the Frog”, and “Brother Bear”. She will be sharing traditional painting techniques, production processes, history, and a few tricks of the trade. This art is perfect for beginners as well as professional artists. LEGO Stop Motion Animation
LEGOs have been used in countless short films by amateurs and professionals alike, and are the perfect building blocks (pun intended) to learn the basics of stop-motion animation. You will learn what it takes to make a simple walking animation, how to draw a storyboard, and move all the way up to animating a short scene with LEGO’s, my personal favorite is Star Wars. We will provide the LEGO’S , of course , if you want to bring in some favorites, bring them in and let’s have fun !
Character Design in Photoshop
Photoshop is the world’s best-known photo-editing program. Artists, photographers, designers, and hobbyists all rely on Adobe Photoshop for image creation and editing. You’ll learn how to use Photoshop with detailed, step-by-step instructions that you’ll have no trouble following—even if you’ve never used a computer graphics program before! And you’ll have a lot of fun doing it. Photoshop CS6 has a host of impressive new features for photographers, and you’ll encounter a number of them. We’ll begin with an introduction to the Photoshop environmentPhoto Morphing is a special effect in animation that changes (or morphs) one image or shape into another through a seamless transition. In this camp students will learn the basics of Photoshop to edit and Morph images, we might change them into Superheros , Actors , Actresses or whatever image they can think of !
We will cover the History of Animation and work into the fundamentals such as squash and stretch, arcs, timing. All these principles will give the students the necessary tools for bringing characters to life through animation.
If your camper likes to doodle and carries a sketchbook or scraps of paper around with them, then this is the camp! The students will learn the basic principles used in creating a sketch. Principles include, shape, form, line, value, color, space, composition, emphasis, rhythm, and exaggeration, balance and proportion. In this camp we will provide props, clothed models, and everyday examples from life.
Flash is a main part of the Internet these days, from Facebook games to fun animated cartoons on You Tube. We will focus mainly on tools and techniques to give a clear understanding of Flash. Every student will be able to create their own animated shorts, upload them online and show the world. Some of the subjects to be covered are, motion tweens, shape tweens, how to publish a cartoon, understanding the timeline, how to implement sound, movie clips, loops, layers and much more.
2D Gaming Animation
In this camp, we build a Basic Platformer Game, using 2D Animation – Animate (Flash). 2D Animate (Flash) is a great tool for building animations and games. With 2D Animation (Flash) the student have the ability to publish an animation to a sprite sheet. Another advantage of working with a sprite sheet is that you can use Flash to build animations for gaming environments other than Flash Player.

Maya® 3D animation is used by all major Animated Film Production studios such as Blue Sky, Disney-Pixar, Dreamworks, Universal, 2Oth Century Fox and has been used to produce the greatest 3D Animated Films of all time.
