What Animators say about Elite Animation Academy !
“I always loved watching animated films and drawing my own cartoon characters when I was growing up, but never thought I could actually make a career of it! I studied architecture in college, but graduated in the midst of a recession and was unable to find a job in my chosen field. When I had the opportunity to apply for a trainee position at a small animation studio (in Honolulu, Hawaii), I jumped at the chance and was accepted. I’ve been animating ever since! I started my career at Walt Disney Animation Studios in 1982. Some of the characters I’ve animated include: Ursula (The Little Mermaid), Maurice (Beauty & the Beast), adult Simba (The Lion King), Chief Powhatan (Pocahontas), Captain Li Shang (Mulan), Pleakley & David (Lilo & Stitch), Denahi (Brother Bear), Mildred & Mr. Willerstein (Meet the Robinsons, and Eudora & James (in The Princess and the Frog).” I love to animate because I enjoy bringing characters to life that are memorable and entertaining (my favorite character to animate was Ursula, because she was so “over-the-top” in her performance and her movements — especially with all those tentacles!). I am also way too shy to perform on a stage in front of an audience, but animation allows me to express myself through my characters. It has definitely been a lot of fun!!”

“I studied Illustration at the School of Visual Arts and was recruited by Disney for the animation internship. I never thought I would want to be an animator, but when I saw these beautiful illustrations move and act as if they’ve always been their. I fell in love with the art and decided to pursue it. Animation has been an amazing journey.”

“I highly recommend the Elite Animation Academy animation program, as it will provide children a great foundation for a career in animation. The schooling I had as a young artist was invaluable and formed the foundation of my career today. Being an artist has fulfilled many of my dreams, it’s the means of how I express myself and making people happy through animation is greatly rewarding. I started in animation by taking a course in animation at Cal Arts, then learning under Eric Larson, one of Disney’s famed nine old men. Now you can learn under Paulo Alvarado and his team, who are truly the modern elite in the business. I’ve had the pleasure of working directly with Paulo, he is well versed in all steps of the animation process. Any student aspiring to be an artist in the animation field will be lucky to be under his tutelage. His vast experience in animation is invaluable, I encourage anyone interested to sign up and take his class and get involved with Elite Animation Academy ” !

“I’ve been fascinated with the art of animation for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Bangkok, Thailand, I never thought that I would one day ended up being at Disney working along side many of my childhood idols and the most talented artists and animators in the world. Paulo Alvarado and his team at Elite Animation Academy are among those great artists I met during my time at Disney. As William A. Ward once wrote, “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” I believe Paulo and his team are great teachers. Elite Animation Academy has my highest recommendation”.
